In the midst of COVID-19, the world suddenly began to feel so scary and it seemed as if we were all “grounded” with mandatory stay-at-home orders. As someone who struggles with anxiety and depression, my escape has always been art, but because I was not allowed to work from my studio, I couldn’t do my regular resin paintings. How could I survive this without painting?! I felt so lost and a deep urge to feel “grounded” by the earth. I set up my easel in my garden and as always, I let my emotions flow. And a new style emerged. One that connected me with the beautiful land, the natural movements of the earth, and to feel trust and hope in our planet. Because this series was so personal, I was hesitant to share it, but my hope is that this collection can also help you find peace of mind in uncertain times. I am so grateful to live in the magical islands of Hawaii and feel its divine power, and I want to share that with you all.
Let’s continue to spread aloha, not the virus, love one another, and stay positive.
